Welcome to Shopping Drift, where chaos meets consumerism in a supermarket showdown like no other! Developed as a prototype during the Game and Media Design course at KADK in Copenhagen, Shopping Drift offers a unique blend of split-screen multiplayer mayhem and PVE action. Players must navigate aisles, dodge obstacles, and battle opponents to secure the best deals and emerge victorious as the ultimate shopper!

Gameplay Overview

In Shopping Drift, players race through a dynamically generated supermarket, navigating through different sections such as veggies, dry food, sweets, and beverages. Each player receives a list of four items to find and collect at each round, aiming to save money by locating products with discounts. The game features destructible environments, allowing players to wreak havoc by destroying products and shelves.

Key Features:

1. Split-screen multiplayer support for up to six players, offering fast-paced competitive gameplay.
2. Procedurally generated supermarket layout with dynamically populated shelves and product catalog.
3. Physics-based character controls for a realistic shopping experience.
4. AI opponents provide challenging single-player experiences for those without friends to play with.
5. Destructible environments add an element of chaos and strategy to the gameplay.
6. Unique scoring system rewards players based on both savings and damage dealt.

Future Development

The current prototype of Shopping Drift showcases the core gameplay mechanics and serves as a foundation for further development. Future plans include:

• Designing original characters and assets to replace downloaded content.
• Adding new gameplay features such as power-ups, obstacles, and customizable shopping carts.
• Enhancing visual aesthetics and refining gameplay mechanics based on player feedback.
• Exploring additional multiplayer modes and online functionality to expand the game's audience.
